Instead of staying home to campaign weeks before the April 2nd mayoral election, I represented Windsor at the 100th Congressional City Conference in Washington D.C. Why? Windsor deserves the most educated and prepared leaders and I attended to learn and advocate for the Town of Windsor.

On Monday, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, spoke to us along with U.S. Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg. The Colorado delegation, from cities and towns across the state, had lunch on Tuesday on Capital Hill with members of Congress from Colorado (see below). Wednesday started with breakfast with both Colorado Senators (images below).

In between the speakers, most of my time at the Congressional City Conference was spent in work-sessions learning about water, infrastructure, economic development, and other challenges and opportunities facing Windsor.

The National League of Cities (NLC), based in Washington, DC, serves as a relentless advocate for the nation’s cities, towns, and villages in our nation’s capital, and has played a historic role in shaping some of the country’s most significant pieces of public policy. The NLC invites local representatives from across the country to come together to celebrate a century of accomplishments on behalf of local governments and to examine the challenges and opportunities that will face local governments in the decades to come.
