This evening, Windsor will decide who will lead the town for the next 4-years. Regardless of the outcome, I feel good as I put my best foot forward. I have met so many good people, families, and business owners during the process. I made a lot of new friends, but I am ready for the final decision. Please do not be swayed by the mudslinging, nastiness, pettiness, or false claims. Look at the candidates and make an informed decision. There is a lot at stake. There are developers that want to build, build, build and there are residents that want to take their foot off the throttle. We have to find a balance. Developers have the right to use their land. New developments must fit the character of our community. We need to tighten our building codes so home buyers get a quality home, especially first time buyers. Most of us were not born here. We move here growing the population and want to hold onto that “small town feel.” We can grow and protect our way of life. We will support our Police and keep Windsor safe. We will not overlook the flannel shirts in Public Works that keep us rolling. We will have world class parks, trails, and open space. We will have a vibrant Downtown. We will have a new grocer on the east side of town *and* a great spot for a future library. Windsor has an identity. We know who we are and what we can be. There is a lot of chatter during the election and a lot of money spent. I’ll spend between ~$5,500 and my opponent will likely spend over $20,000 (the job pays $12,000/year). Unfortunately, it is likely that less than 25% of people will vote. I urge you to find that ballot, VOTE, and drop it off at the Rec Center drive-thru drop box before 7:00 PM. If you did not receive a ballot or lost it, go to Town Hall TODAY BEFORE 7:00 PM and get a replacement ballot and vote on the spot. We all love Windsor and I look forward to our future. Thank you.
