Barry earned a reputation as a natural leader within our community. As District 2 Representative on the Town Board over the last 6-years, he has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of his neighbors. Barry was also selected by his fellow Town Board members to serve as Mayor Pro Tem for the past 2-years.

Barry was instrumental in getting the pedestrian bridge over the Poudre River and trails connecting several neighborhoods to Downtown. He led the way to add the roundabout on Colorado Boulevard and the turning lanes at Colorado Boulevard and Main Street (HW-392). Barry worked for many safety improvements within his district, such as slowing drivers down in Steeplechase and adding a 4-way stop at New Liberty and Covered Bridge Road in Raindance.

Barry is well-prepared, attentive, and engaged in Town Board meetings. He is available, approachable, and responsive to constituents. He believes the best way to understand and solve a problem is to actively listen and be empathetic.

The Wilson family has lived and played in Windsor for 24 years and love the Poudre River Trail. Lei Ann and Barry have been married for 28 years. Their son, Reece, graduated from Iowa State University and lives and works in Omaha, Nebraska. Their daughters, Lindsey & Parker, are seniors at Iowa State University. They have an energetic goldendoodle named Ace. The Wilsons enjoy the Poudre River Trail, skiing, hiking, biking, and college sports.

Barry holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Iowa State University and a M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix in Fort Collins.

In 2023, Barry started a new career as the Executive Director of a nonprofit, the Poudre River Trail Corridor, Inc. He sold his Farmers Insurance Agency on Main Street in Downtown Windsor to focus on the Poudre River Trail and Town Board. Barry loves his new role with the Poudre River Trail because it is such a special amenity for Windsor residents and all of Northern Colorado. In 2024, the Poudre River Trail will connect Windsor to Timnath and will eventually pass under I-25 and connect Fort Collins, Timnath, Windsor, and Greeley with a 10-foot wide paved trail stretching over 40-miles.
